Counselling Fees and Policies | Private Therapy Sessions in Singapore
Hope and Noticeable Change — Offered with Empathy, Grounded in Science
Because the right support is not just about finding time… but about finding the right space within that time.
Our Pricing Philosophy
At Listening Ear Counselling & Consultancy Pte. Ltd. (UEN: 202121229W), we are committed to offering transparent, inclusive, and fair pricing.
When you begin considering therapy, it is natural to want clarity – not only about the process, but also about the investment involved.
We see therapy not simply as a cost, but as a meaningful investment in your mental well-being, your relationships, and the life you are quietly working towards.
Whether you come as an individual, couple, or family, our hourly rates remain the same. This reflects the consistency of care, clinical depth, and professional attention each hour of work requires.
For many clients, there is something reassuring in knowing that the focus is not on categories… but on the quality of the space held for them.
Counselling Fees in Singapore
At this point, you may be wondering what the fees look like in practical terms.
Our rate is SGD 250 per hour, regardless of whether you attend as an individual, couple, or family.
This allows the work to be shaped around what you need, rather than fitting you into a predefined structure.
In-Person and Online Counselling
You may choose the format that feels most comfortable.
Some clients value the grounded presence of in-person sessions.
Others prefer the privacy and flexibility of working from home.
And sometimes, simply having that flexibility makes it easier to begin.
| Session Type | Investment | Additional Charges | Cancellation Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| In-Person Counselling | SGD 250 per hour | – SGD 50 after-hours surcharge – Transportation fees for out-of-office sessions or different venues – SGD 50 administrative fee may apply where additional insurance coordination or documentation is required | Reschedule or cancel with 36+ hours’ notice. Late changes or missed appointments are charged at the full hourly rate, as the time has been specifically reserved for you. |
| Online Sessions (Zoom) | SGD 250 per hour | – Same as above (where applicable) | Same as above. |
Session Duration and Depth of Work
Session lengths are collaboratively tailored to suit your therapeutic needs and pace, whether shorter or longer sessions, depending on what feels most appropriate for the work.
The first session is usually scheduled for 90 minutes, allowing time to get to know each other, explore your personal history, and begin forming a shared understanding of what you would like from the work.
Subsequent sessions are arranged collaboratively, often around 60–90 minutes for individuals and 90–120 minutes for couples. Some clients choose to allow more time when they feel it would be helpful to go deeper or not feel rushed, while others prefer shorter sessions more frequently.
At times, sessions may naturally conclude a little earlier when the work feels safely complete for that day.
As the work begins to unfold, some clients notice that having more time allows them to explore more fully and with greater ease.
Sessions may therefore be extended in 30-minute increments, when appropriate and mutually agreed.
Example
A 90-minute session (SGD 375) often allows for a more complete and unhurried exploration.
Fees are based on the time reserved, rather than the exact duration used. This reflects the preparation, clinical focus, and post-session integration involved in providing consistent and thoughtful care.
And as the work unfolds, you may begin to notice what pace and duration feels most supportive for you… and we can always adjust this together. In many ways, the length of a session matters less than the quality of the space that is created within it.
What Happens in Your First Counselling Session
Beginning therapy can sometimes feel like stepping into the unknown.
In the first session, we take time to get to know each other at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
We will explore what has brought you here, your current concerns, and some of the experiences that may have shaped where you are today. There is no pressure to share everything at once — you can begin wherever it feels right.
This session is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of how I work, and to decide whether this feels like a good fit for you.
At times, we may gently begin to identify patterns, themes, or areas that may benefit from further exploration. For some, this brings a sense of clarity; for others, simply having a space to speak openly can already feel like an important first step.
The first session is usually 90 minutes, allowing enough space for this process to unfold without feeling rushed.
And as we begin, we can also discuss what you hope to gain from therapy, and consider together what pace and approach might support you best.
Who This May Be For
People come to counselling for many different reasons — as individuals, as couples, and sometimes as families seeking a shared space to understand one another more deeply.
You may be here because something feels difficult or overwhelming…
or perhaps because, on the surface, things seem manageable, yet something doesn’t quite sit right.
Some clients come with a clear concern they would like to work through.
Others arrive with a quieter sense that something needs attention, even if it is not fully defined yet.
This space may be helpful if you are:
- navigating relationship challenges, including conflict, distance, communication difficulties, or infidelity
- working through patterns related to addiction, whether your own or within your family
- going through a period of transition, such as relocation, expat adjustment, career shifts, or life stage changes
- exploring questions around identity, belonging, gender, or sexuality
- experiencing concerns around intimacy, sexual wellbeing, or fertility-related challenges
- feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally stretched
- feeling stuck, uncertain, or disconnected from yourself or others
- seeking a deeper understanding of your patterns, relationships, or inner world
Many of the people I work with are navigating relationships, identity, and life transitions that can feel complex, personal, and at times difficult to speak about elsewhere.
You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning.
And often, it is enough to start with a sense that you would like things to feel different… even if you are not yet sure how.
Sometimes, beginning with a conversation is already a meaningful step forward.
The Value of the Work
You are not simply paying for time.
You are creating space for:
- dedicated, unhurried presence and attention
- thoughtful and clinically grounded exploration
- tailored, evidence-based support
- a confidential and non-judgemental space
- a genuine commitment to your growth
- ongoing learning, research, and best practices
Each session includes not only the time you see, but also the professional preparation, reflection, and integration that supports the work.
Over time, many clients begin to notice subtle but important shifts…
in how they respond…
in how they understand themselves…
and in the choices they begin to make.
And when that happens, the value of the work becomes something you experience directly.
