Counselling Fees, Payment & Clinic Policies
At Listening Ear Counselling & Consultancy Pte Ltd, counselling fees are clear, consistent and transparent across individual, couple, family and other specialised counselling services. Below you will find clear information about fees, session duration, advance payment and appointment confirmation, cancellation and rescheduling, after-hours appointments, and other clinic policies.
Counselling is available both in person in Singapore and online via Zoom.
All counselling services are charged at the same rate.
Counselling Fees
All counselling services are charged at the same base rate, with the total fee calculated according to session duration.
60 minutes = SGD 250
90 minutes = SGD 375
120 minutes = SGD 500
In Person Counselling
SGD 250 / per 60 minutes
- Same base fee for all counselling services
- After-hours surcharge: SGD 50 per 60 minutes, prorated according to session duration
- Transportation fees may apply for agreed out-of-office sessions
- Administrative fees may apply for insurance coordination, documentation, letters or other additional professional work
Online Counselling (Zoom)
SGD 250 / per 60 minutes
- Same base fee for all counselling services
- After-hours surcharge: SGD 50 per 60 minutes, prorated according to session duration
- Zoom link sent once the session time and payment are confirmed
- Available for clients in Singapore and, where professionally appropriate, clients overseas
- Administrative charges may apply where relevant
After-Hours Appointments
Appointments outside standard practice hours are subject to an additional SGD 50 per 60 minutes, prorated according to session duration. The after-hours surcharge is added to the standard counselling fee. Examples:
- 60-minute session: + SGD 50
- 90-minute session: + SGD 75
- 120-minute session: + SGD 100
Session Duration
The first session is usually 90 minutes. This gives us time to understand what brings you to counselling, explore what you would like to work towards, and begin getting a sense of whether the therapeutic fit feels right for you.
A 60-minute first session can also be arranged where preferred. Follow-up sessions may be 60, 90 or 120 minutes depending on your needs, preferences and the nature of the work.
90-minute session = SGD 375
First Session: Usually unto 90 minutes
Follow-up sessions: Often 60-90 minutes for individuals and 90-120 minutes for couples or families
Sessions may be extended in 30-minute increments when appropriate
Example: 90-minute session = SGD 375
Advance Payment & Appointment Confirmation
- Advance payment is required to confirm and reserve your appointment.
- Once an appointment has been offered and accepted, payment should normally be made within 24 hours.
- For appointments arranged less than 24 hours in advance, payment is required at the time of booking.
- Until payment has been received, the appointment is not considered fully confirmed and the time slot may be released to another client.
- Once payment has been received and acknowledged, your appointment is confirmed.
Accepted Payment Methods
PayNow
Singapore clients may make payment directly by PayNow using our UEN 202121229W, or by scanning the QR code below
Credit / Debit Card
Secure credit and debit card payment is available through Stripe, for both local and international cards.
PayPal
Secure online payment is also available through PayPal, including for clients who prefer an international payment option.
Insurance Claims
Insurance arrangements may be available where prior approval or a valid Guarantee of Payment has been provided. Administrative fees may apply for insurance coordination, forms, documentation, reports or other additional professional work.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
Plans sometimes change. If you need to move or cancel your appointment, please provide at least 36 hours’ notice.
36 hours or more
Your session may be rescheduled or refunded, according to your preference.
Less than 36 hours
The full session fee is payable, as the appointment time has already been reserved and prepared specifically for you.
Missed appointments / no-shows
The full session fee is payable.
Exceptional Circumstances
I understand that genuine emergencies and unexpected events can occur.
Although the usual cancellation policy applies, exceptional circumstances may be considered individually and with discretion. Please contact me as soon as reasonably possible if something unexpected occurs.
Practitioner Availability
Listening Ear Counselling & Consultancy Pte Ltd is a private practice, and sessions are personally conducted by Karl deSouza.
Appointments are therefore subject to practitioner availability.
From time to time, illness, professional training, leave or unforeseen circumstances may require an appointment to be changed. Where this happens, I will endeavour to let you know as early as reasonably possible and offer an alternative appointment.
Service Scope
Counselling sessions are provided for the purpose and client for whom they have been arranged.
A counselling appointment cannot automatically be substituted for another professional service, assessment, report, letter, mediation, consultation or other professional work.
Where additional or different professional work is requested, we can discuss what is required, whether it falls within my professional scope, and any applicable fees before proceeding.
Clinical Suitability & Safety
Your wellbeing and safety are important.
Please share relevant medical, psychological, psychiatric, medication or other information that may affect the suitability or safety of counselling.
There may be occasions when another professional, specialist service, medical practitioner or level of care would be more appropriate for your needs.
Where this becomes apparent, I will discuss this openly with you and, where appropriate, help you consider suitable next steps or referral options.
Counselling may be paused, adapted or concluded where continuing would be clinically inappropriate, unsafe or outside my professional scope.
Professional Boundaries & Respectful Conduct
Listening Ear is committed to providing a respectful and psychologically safe environment.
Clients and practitioner are expected to communicate respectfully and maintain appropriate professional boundaries. Abusive, threatening, discriminatory or seriously inappropriate behaviour may result in a session being ended or services being discontinued.
Right to Decline, Pause or Discontinue Services
Listening Ear Counselling & Consultancy Pte Ltd reserves the right to decline, pause or discontinue services where this is clinically, ethically or professionally appropriate.
This may include concerns relating to safety, suitability for the service offered, significant breaches of professional boundaries, abusive or threatening behaviour, conflicts of interest, or situations outside the practitioner’s professional competence or scope of practice.
Where reasonably possible and appropriate, concerns will first be discussed with the client and suitable alternatives or referrals may be considered.
Non-Transferable
Appointments, prepaid sessions and any counselling packages or credits, where offered, are intended for the individual, couple or family for whom they were purchased or arranged.
They are not transferable to another person unless expressly agreed beforehand.
Price Adjustments
Listening Ear Counselling & Consultancy Pte Ltd may review and adjust its professional fees from time to time. Any change in fees will be communicated clearly.
The fee applicable to a future appointment will ordinarily be the fee in effect at the time that appointment is booked or confirmed.
Agreement to Terms
By booking and proceeding with an appointment, clients confirm that they have had the opportunity to read and understand the applicable fees, payment terms, cancellation policy and clinic policies of Listening Ear Counselling & Consultancy Pte Ltd.
These policies are intended to provide clarity, fairness and consistency while supporting a safe and respectful therapeutic relationship.
